  1. Probably carbon.

  2. An essence in a philosophical sense is something you cannot take away and have it still be that thing.  If you took corners away from a cube, it couldn't still be a cube... it would be something else entirely.  So let's think about what that might be for a woman.

First of all, it is probably not anything physical.  There are many women who can't produce eggs or children, who do not have b*****s, or even a variety of other things that are often associated with womanhood.  Losing some of these things can often be a blow to some women's own self-image of womanhood (for example, if cancer forces them to have a mastectomy), but many overcome these conflicts and seem no less womanly than they were before... and sometimes more so.

That leaves us with behavioural things.  And here we're going to run up against a problem.  There are many things that a person might do that are perceived as 'manly' or 'womanly', but they are not the same things in every culture or time.  Some view women as soft and yielding while others as practical and take-charge.  Even then, it is not uncommon to have a sample of a woman without one particular characteristic or another, but still considered a woman nonetheless.

Personally, I would say that there ISN'T really any essence of womanliness.  To me, it seems to be more of a role than a nature.  This is why people can be confused if they think that role is stripped from them, or become hostile if it is challenged.  It is not who you are... it is who you choose to be.

  3. Stand up for your rights. You have the right with you. Equal as that of men.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

  4. Producing the egg.

  5. woman being a woman!!!!

  6. The natural nurturing capacity that lies within the female psyche.
