What is the estimate cost of the Perth, Lotterywest Fireworks?

i have to make a speech on what an expensive thing it is but i cant find how much it costs, i just need a pretty correct estimate. it can be this year (2008) or last year, (the fireworks on Australia Day,26th of Jan)

I couldn't find anything in google .. but I'd say about $1m for the actual fireworks. Then you've got a whole heap of other stuff on top of that like organisers, security, entertainment, police, gardeners(!), etc! Then there's all the jets and planes they have that fly over - that would cost hundreds of thousands by itself!

Try contacting City of Perth and see if they can give you any information.
