  1. it is true that being in the middle of the med makes one think that malta should be the 'american counterpart' melting pot of the eastern world, but in a recent study done (by actual professionals) it was found that the maltese are nearer in genetic makeup to sicilian and greeks (ie europeans) than to africans and near easterners.

btw: to officer uggh:  the MALTESE falcon was named as thus because it was found in the MALTESE islands, in the middle of the mediterranean.  georgia is not connected to malta in such a way, sorry!

  2. Maltese is their nationality but there is no clear-cut distinction between nationality and ethnic group.  So you can also say that Maltese is their ethnic group.  Since Malta is in Europe, they are also European, and therefore Caucasians.  Hope that helps.

  3. Georgian.

Ever hear of the Maltese Falcon?  Hmmm?  Or the Atlanta Falcons?   Hmmmmmmm???  Well Atlanta's in Georgia.
