Question:

What is the etiquette in returning to a salon to have highlights fixed within 3 days of getting them?

I got highlights and low lights on Friday, and had them done at a salon that I've been to before. They lost my color history, and so I had to guess on the colors. I got home, and feel that the color is not nearly dramatic enough.

Is it acceptable to expect the stylist to add in a few darker low lights? I don't anticipate having to pay for this, because the salon lost my history.

  1. Sure it is ... Go back to the salon and say that the color isnt to your liking ... You seem very polite anyway just the way u have asked here.  Just dont wait to long... go this week.

  2. Go now as soon as possible, if you wait much longer than a week they might make you pay for it.Call and let them know that you are not happy with the color, and make an appointment.

  3. Yeah, it's okay if you go back there and ask the stylist to make it a little more dramatic. Just tell them that it didn't come out the way that you had expected it to. Remember to smile. It's not your fault that you couldn't remember your exact color history or anything. It's theirs for losing it, so, yeah.

  4. The salon/stylist should technically not ask for more money since the customer is not completely satisfied with the service, but I had a (female) j#rk highlight my hair and when I phoned the salon a couple of days later since some of the streaks were too light, she said that I'd have to pay for more highlights!  I merely had said to her that I was wondering if she could take a look at my hair.  That is someone that doesn't seem to care about repeat business ;)  If they won't do the service free of charge, perhaps consider going to another salon and getting a toner and not returning to that salon again.
