  1. Traditionally engagement party gifts are not usually given. However, a lot of people wish to bring one. If you would like to bring a gift - I would suggest something like a bottle of wine, a great-smelling candle, or a photo album. Keep it simple, as they are not expecting a gift anyway.

  2. I have been to many engagement parties and everyone always brings money as a gift. Granted the engagement party included about 200 people and were similar to weddings. It depends on how big this engagement party will be. I don't know if wine is an appropriate gift though, seems a bit small for an engagement party.

  3. I've been to a few and I always bring a nice bottle of wine.

  4. I have never attended one.

I would bring a bottle of champagne, as a hostess gift.

  5. If you go to both the wedding and the engagement party, you only need to bring a present to one or the other. Bringing a gift to both is not necessary. However, if you only plan to go to one party, you should bring a gift for the person the party is being thrown for. Be sure to leave a card with your name on attached to your gift, so they will know who to thank.

  6. Yes. Not more than $50.

  7. Bring wine.

If you plan to go to the bridal shower, you'll be bringing a gift for that- as well as the wedding- so 3 gifts is definitely above and beyond what is expected.

I always bring wine for the host- no matter what type of party it is.
