What is the evryday purpose of a newspaper and why are they published everyday?

Just saw this Depression may last a decade or so.  The Lemonade part is that many useless jobs will be lost forever, like newspaper staff, and teachers.  Time to homeschool and end the taxes for outrageous teacher pay, bus fuel, and building heat!  It's all good!

Filler again? I see you have an interest with newspapers lol.

Truthfully I see it as entertainment, to keep track of events, current issues, people, records etc. I don't bother much with newspapers, they are boring and never got the hang of flipping those d**n pages. My problem with them is that they do not print real issues that can change daily lives for the better, many stories often go lost or censored, sometimes the real story is hidden from public view and no reporter is around to snap at it.
