Globalization is a situation when the international trade and international capital flows increase faster than the world GDP.

If you are referring to economic globalization, it is the integration of national economies into an international economy.  This is done through trade, foreign investment, outsourcing jobs for lower labor costs, and the spread of technology.

P.S.

As you can probably tell, I am not a fan of globalization because there are far too many negative externalities tied to it.
