  1. It depends on the event.  Show jumping would have different ring sizes depending on how many jumps there are and what level the exhibition is.  Barrel racing has 2 different sizes but measures the distance between barrels, not the arena (usually 90 feet in between each barrel).  Performance horse shows vary depending on event as well, eg. Western Pleasure would have a different arena size than a Reining class.

  2. There usually isn't an excact size accept for like presicion events like dressage, were the arena and the setting of letters or points are presicsely spaced and measured.  For like jumping or timed events like barrel racing and pole bending anything goes.  The first answer sounds about right.

  3. depending on the event 40 X 60 to a  60 X 180

  4. It depends on the sport or discipline- for dressage, and the dressage portion of a 3 day event, the size is either 20x60 ( meters) or 20x40 (meters). If you are talking about a hunter/jumper or western arena, sizes of 20x200 aren't unsual at all. Hope that helps.

  5. They can range, depending on the event  40 X 60 to a huge one of like 60 X 180
