  1. If you come up with something really profound or clever, then everyone will remember you after you die.

  2. JUST NOW U NEED HELP ON KNOWING ITS MEANING. If u do something like that u are going to teach a person.Being taught is the haven for U AND ME.

  3. Write a wise saying and your name will live forever. - Anonymous

I think it is pretty self explaining.

  4. This one needs no explanation because it's not abstruse, ambiguous nor has multiple possible interpretations.

It's about as straight forward as "Obama is the Democratic nominee for president."

Curiously enough, you could attempt to assassinate Bush and your name would live forever too, and if sucessful you'd have the gratitude of the majority of humankind.

There's an interesting story back in ancient Greece recorded by Plato where this young guy burned down the temple of Artemis and was sentenced to death for this outrage.  When asked why by the judges he said "I wanted my name to live forever." and so it has since Plato recorded it.

  5. Brian B. is right - whenever you see this quote, the attribution is always "Anonymous."  That's the joke - this quote did not make anyone's name live forever.
