  1. Hamthug.....

What you said sounds like youre spotlighting deer. Which is poaching in most/ if not all states.

    So, ...

Anyways to answer your question. None. No headshots.

  2. Head shot = Bad idea

  3. head shot??? bad idea..

  4. About 10 yds with a remington 870.

  5. in halo 3 i gave a brigadeer a headshot with my sniper from like 100 yards

  6. never a head shot but my dad got a heart shot at a mile, not fake we measured and he had a high powerd scope and rifle

  7. I did some head-shooting forty years ago, when the biologists stood in front of the dozen or so of us in camp and told us we needed to kill 300 does. None of the shots was particularly long, less than 150 yards, and it was overall a sickening experience I'd not want to repeat. There's just no margin for error, and I quickly learned to put sportsmanship ahead of ego.

  8. A true Hunter and Sportsman never ever aims for the head of any Deer. If anyone does, you will most likely end up wounding the Deer rather than harvesting it.* Always aim for the heart and lung area.** " Do not attempt Head shots, very Bad Idea."  The vast majority of Big Game is Harvested within 100 yards or less.* It is rare for it to be Harvested at longer ranges.*~

  9. I have never head-shot a deer.  No reason to.  My farthest shot on a Whitetail deer was 300 yards.  It was a perfect neck-shot.  The deer dropped out of my scope so rapidly I thought I'd missed.  Good thing I went to check.

  10. Never- I'm not that stupid.

Anybody that would shoot a deer in the head has no business hunting.

Shooting a deer in the head leads to crippled, unrecoverable deer.

Aim for the heart and lungs.

  11. I hit a 5 pointer(143lbs.) at 205 yds. in the bottom part the head using an accuracy international, chambered in .338 lapua magnum. I had never seen such a violent strike of a bullet on a deer like that(300 gr.match). Good day, no wind, and very flat terrain, plus, I shot prone. Easy shot with this rifle.

  12. Head shot is too riskey as they can move it very quick and you may have reached the "point of no return" pulling the trigger.

I much prefer a neck shot placed right in front of the shoulder and will aim there under 200 yards provided I have a shooting rail in the stand or am laying prone.

  13. I only head shoot when I hunt deer at night. When I get the bright lights on their eyes and that is all I can see so I gotta aim for their head. I like night hunting. My buddies and I can ride around drinking beer till a deer walks out and then we open fire towards it head.

I would have to say about 150 yards.

  14. About 7 foot

Tree stand, buck walked directly under the stand.

12ga 00 Buck to the top of the head

  15. A real hunter never aims for the head you want to aim for the lung/heart area right behind the front shoulder, might want to learn to hunt rather then going out and see how far away of a deer you can shoot in the head....

  16. head shots are just plan dumb, too small a target and the bullet may hit a branch or something that you cant see in your sights

    just not responsible,

  17. 180 yards....but it was the worse shot ive ever taken in my life....i had a scoped .270 i was 17 years old, had the crosshairs on the chest. I absolutely flinched when i pulled the trigger...but the deer dropped and im like "yea i kick ***" so i walk out there and im looking over the doe for a second and im like what the h**l where is the wound? Well i hit her right behind the ear...a kill shot none the less but an extremely lucky one. Ah well she still tasted great.

  18. i prefer the neck myself.  just below the ear.

I once shot a deer in the head by accident.  It was outta site and must have lifted its head just as the shot the doe in the shoulder.  Went over and found two deer, and was like oh wow.  One bullet, two deer.  I started looking around at the litle one and couldn't find any marks, until i looked between its ears.  I just barely took the top of its skull off.  After that i decided i wouldn't intentionally shoot one in the skull, too messy.  I would if thats the only shot i had, but i prefer the neck, and at a distance the vitals, heart & lungs.
