What is the fashion style in Paris?

I am going to Paris in a week or so for about 4 days and would love to have a better idea about what to wear.

Is there any particular trends out there which I need to catch up on, or is it basically the same style to the UK?

People in Paris generally dress better than the rest of the world.  They dress more on the trendy side of life.  Jeans are OK, but make sure the shirt and footwear isn't too casual.

Parisians are used to tourists from around the world with a variety of fashions so you do not need to buy new clothes just for a four-day stay. Take Lancer's advice and do not dress too casually or too "modishly". Conservative, tone-down, clean and neat clothes will do just fine.
