What is the fastest and best video convertor on the internet?

I have videos (Youtube) and DVDs that I want to put on my Ipod. I'm looking for something that's free and extremely fast so that I can be up and running in no time.

For video converters fast mean more compression, so, output file very small and quality going down

A lot of free converters, if they don't have a proper decoder and encoder attached will do a hatchet job to make it work.

You can use Mediacoder.. Its free also, With this you can convert any video format to almost any other video format..

Word of caution though.. youtube videos may lag in audio in some videos.. so i would recommend 'vdownloader' for youtube videos..
