What is the fastest swimming stroke?

Is it the breast, back, butterfly, or freestyle.and whats teh order from fastest to slowest

mine is freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, and breaststroke.

it varies from person to person. most of the time its my order, but other times its freestyle, back, fly, breaststroke.

Front crawl is the fastest. The name Front crawl is also used interchangeably with the term "freestyle." Freestyle officially means that you can use any stroke in competition, However, swimmers will almost always choose the front crawl, as it is officially the fastest stroke. dont know about from order tho

The fastest stroke is the crawl (or better known as the freestyle: Actually freestyle is a term used to allow the swimmer to choose whatever stroke they wish. Everyone uses the crawl because it's fastest.)

According to the record books butterfly is usually second fastest, then backstroke (although these are very close), and then breaststroke.

But, I'm agreeing with one of your other posters that said it depends on the swimmer as some are faster in backstroke than they are in butterfly. Some breaststrokers are even faster in breaststroke than in butterfly.

At one time my 100 fly and 200 fly were faster than my 100 free and 200 free (I rarely swam the freestyle events tapered and shaved).

well for me it is free, back, fly. but it differs for everyone.

The way i swim the order is

1. Freestyle

2. Breast

3. Back

and 4. Butterfly.

but no matter what freestyle is DEFFENATLY the fastest

freestyle or frontcrawl is the fastest.

but some people, who are not competitive, but instead are leisure swimmers, sometimes have another stroke as their fastest.

For example, you would think that the order would be freestyle, backstroke, fly, breast (fast-slowest)

but (although i am competitive), my order is free, breast, fly, back (fast-slowest) - its all about you personally.
