What is the fastest way from Bangor in Wales to Wolverhampton?

Is there any train service? I don't mind indirect service. I'm from the US, and am trying to do a programme in Bangor at the university there. I want some way to get to Wolverhampton to watch my beloved Wolves play football. Obviously, I won't have a car. Also, if there is any type of train service, what kind of cost can I expect? With the bloody value of a dollar nowadays, I should imagine it'd be a lot.

there are lots of different price options for the ticket so you would need to trawl through to find the best buy ... usually you get the best deals if you're booking the tickets in advance (at least a couple of weeks, more in advance might be even better) ... often you get better prices if you look for two one-way tickets rather than a return

  2. A return train journey will cost you about £30 (about $53). It's not that bad, considering the cost of train journeys in Wales.

You will though need to change trains at either Crewe (near Wolverhampton) or Shrewsbury (on the Welsh-English border).

A warning though, if you are studying at Bangor you'll have to get used to the horrible "Gog" accent of North Wales. It's really difficult to understand when they speak English. Try picking up a word or two of Welsh, so that you can understand them a bit easier.

  3. YAAAY! AN AMERICAN WOLVES SUPPORTER??!!! WHAAAT??

How come you want to see "beloved wolves"??!!!

    I'm from Wolverhampton!!! woop woop!!

Trains can be expensive - but if you can book 2 weeks in advance you should be able to get a cheaper ticket - also if you're not leaving/arriving at certain times.

have a great time in Wolves - GO TO THE GIFFARD ARMS PUB!!! It rocks!
