Surprisingly medicines do not cure a cold - they can help with symptoms though.  So what cures a cold?  Your immune system.   The fastest way to cure a cold is to have an immune system that is strong and ready to go when faced with germy, marauding invaders.  How do you get this?  Do what your good ol' mom always told you -

plenty of fresh fruits/veggies

adequate rest

fresh air/sunshine

plenty of water, etc.  You know the drill.

Treat your body that way all the time and it will work to help shorten the duration of a cold you may catch in the future.
