The best way is to go to a website called http://yousendit.com

Don't bother signing up for an account or doing the free trial...you don't need to in order to use the application. Just fill in the blue box on the left hand side of the screen. It will send it in a zip format and then the person who receives it just needs to unzip it. I am by no means a computer geek and even I used it without any problems so I'm sure you'll find it easy. either you or your buddy should run an FTP server, then you can FTP the file.  I would think FTP would be better over TCPIP than trying to get post files using HTTP or SMP.

isnt a real fast way. I would suggest sending over xfire http://www.xfire.com/  i get fast send times. Just leave it upload all night to the guy and in the morning it should be done. Or if worst case cenario use aim aol file share. or use yahoo
