  1. sultana

  2. There is no female equivalent.  In their culture women are viewed/expected to be subservient to men.

  3. A sultana

  4. Sultana

and for your information there were a lot of Sultanas that ruled stronger than the male ones!

  5. Sultana or Sultaness. There is an interesting story I read once, from a Ripley's Believe it or Not book. There was a Sultan who lived in the late 18th-century. He wanted more than anything else,a daughter. He told his wives that the one who gave him a little girl, he would make her ,the mother, the Sultana. But baby after baby was born and still no daughter. In the end he had five hundred sons and no daughter. I guess that's where the believe it or not comes in,or it could be that a Muslim ruler actually wanted a daughter for a change.

  6. as far as i know there is no female equivalent of sultan coz in the culture of Islam the female has no right to rule and she must be always by the side of the sultan!!!there is no equal right in ruling between the male and the female!!!
