  2. Generally, Its .ico for XP and both .ico and .png in Vista.

  3. if you wanna set a picture of yourself as a icon. im pretty Sure a BMP can be set as a icon. Open up a picture of yourself on pain and crop out watcha want. then save it as a BMP. Go to the icon right click. Properties. Change Icon, find the pic you just did... you might have to search. "All Files" Because BMP isn't a offical Icon file. Once you find your fine set it as your icon :)
