What is the final olympics score based on?

is it based on how many gold medals a country has or based all the medals a country has?

    3 pts a gold

    2 pts a silver

    1 pt a bronze

    the IOC list countries by the number of Gold Medals

    I guess that would be "winning" or "scoring" of the olympics

    if a scoring system was used, the Gold should be worth 4 points
