  1. plead No Conteste .........

or see if you can just pay a fine outside of court

I had one in GA in March ..... it was a citation and I just paid it

  2. There is no standard fine.  the judge can choose between a wide range of sentences. I seem to recall that the range was from a fine of one buck or six months in jail, but it could be a year.  Not sure about that.  You have to go to court to enter your plea and then if you are convicted, by trial or by plea, to have the judge detemine what sentence to impose.

  3. Prison or jail; up to 6 months for a disorderly persons offense, or 30 days for a petty disorderly persons offense

Fines of up to $1000 for a disorderly persons offense, or $500 for a petty disorderly persons offense.

    restitution

    probation

    community service

    drivers license suspension

You have to go to court because it is evaluated on a case ny case basis since the judge can give you any of the above you need to be in his or her courtroom.

Edit: Depends on what the conduct was if it was minor plead guilty and get it over with if it was pretty bad you should get a lawyer

I would not want to do six months in jail or get my license suspended...
