  2. It means Congress cannot interfere with any religion and can't restrict anyone from practicing any religion. Everyone has the right to express their opinion. Everyone has the right to peacefully protest.

  3. Look it up again, read it again and then ask more questions. The first amendment is foundation on which all other amendments and rights are based.

  4. Cindy, do you mean "what does" the 1st Amendment mean?

If so, it is written in plain, every day English.

Freedom of speech (you have the right to speak truth to power) but not to libel anyone or cause defamation to their name by your words,

Freedom of press (a free press is what makes this nation unique and undefeatable in the end) if that freedom is exercised the way it was meant to be by the founding fathers, actually reporting the truth and not what corporate interests want you to read,

Freedom of religion (the right to practice, OR NOT TO PRACTICE) the religion of your choice and

Right to peacable assembly (organized protests) and to

Petition your government for a Redress of Grievances

(which is just what the Anti War Groups during the vietnam War did to end that illegal, immoral and despicable military action); and

    sadly

what too few Americans did to stop the current dictator's military foray into foreign nations with no justifiable reason.

These were all the rights that were denied to colonists living under Englands tyranny in the 1700s and why the Revolutionary War was fought.
