The only species that can be considered "human beings" is Homo sapiens.  The first ancient "human being" was the anatomically modern human.  The first *hominid* (which is probably what you mean) was Homo habilis, then Homo erectus.  Before that, as others have said, were the Australopithecines.

I should know since Im over 2000 years old. The oldest Pharohs name possibly.Ramses,Serket,Cleopatra,Tutanka... are old. These names are definately some of the oldest recorded names in human history.

Santa Claus is about as believable as Adam.  The first human was probably a Homo sapiens about 200,000 years ago.  There were certainly very closely related beings such as Homo heidelbergensis and Homo ergaster.  Neanderthals were not human in my opinion and niether were H. Habilis or rudolphensis.  They are just too distantly related but it really depends on your definition of human.
