  1. The oldest recorded human name, dating to around 4500 BCE, is the Sumerian legend, Gilgamesh of Mesopotamia.

He predates Adam & Eve by about 800 years (Jewish calendar started in 3751 BCE)...

  2. The only species that can be considered "human beings" is Homo sapiens.  The first ancient "human being" was the anatomically modern human.  The first *hominid* (which is probably what you mean) was Homo habilis, then Homo erectus.  Before that, as others have said, were the Australopithecines.

  3. Actually...some people would say its "Lithes" (not sure about the spelling) then Adam then Eve......

  4. I should know since Im over 2000 years old. The oldest Pharohs name possibly.Ramses,Serket,Cleopatra,Tutanka... are old. These names are definately some of the oldest recorded names in human history.

Oviously ancient Greek and Egyptian names.

  5. Adam.

  6. Santa Claus is about as believable as Adam.  The first human was probably a Homo sapiens about 200,000 years ago.  There were certainly very closely related beings such as Homo heidelbergensis and Homo ergaster.  Neanderthals were not human in my opinion and niether were H. Habilis or rudolphensis.  They are just too distantly related but it really depends on your definition of human.

  7. adam, then eve.

  8. Manu

  9. i think it was Homo Erectus, then came Homo Habilis, the Neanderthals, and then the Cro-Magnons. in case you were wondering homo means man .

  10. The first Human on the human tree,

is Homo Habilis (Handy Man),the Toolmaker.

Further back in time are Australopithicenes

(Africanus,Afarensis) but they are not considered to be

human and belonging to the human tree.
