What is the first pelvic exam like?

i've decided to have my first pelvic exam next week. i am kinda nervous. what should i expect. does it hurt. i am a 19 year old virgin. can someone explain the whole process to me in detail. thanks alot

It will be a little uncomfortable, I won't lie.  It also depends on your dr.'s bedside manner..lol  You will be given a gown or drape, lay back and put your feet in the stirrups, the doc will come in with an assistant and if they are good, they will explain as they go, they will insert a speculum which will be kinda cold, open you up, they will feel around and check for abnormalties, do a swab, remove the speculum and talk with you.  then you get dressed and go, wait for the results.  Just try to relax and know that it is something you have to do, for your health.

1st why are u having a examination if u are a virgin?is it med reasons or infection reason. if u are a virgin then its very unlikely that u have anything at all.

asu are a virgin yes i wont lie it will hurt. they insert something into ur vigina that opens it so they can take a look and swabs, this may brake ur hymen(spelling???) this brakes when u have s*x, but some womens hymen can brake naturally ex if u do horse rideing etc.

dont worry, the docs see lots of people during the day and they're not likely to jump back and scream at the sight of ur vigina lol.

i normally trim any pubes alil and try to relax when they examine u, its hard to do but it will hurt if u dont.
