I'm leaning towards astronomer more, because I'm really interested in stars and planets. But I'm also very into Space and Time. I'm about to go into my Freshmen year, and I think the best thing they have for now that has to do with science is honors biology, which is what I'm taking. But what do i do after that?

  1. Make sure you are taking the most challenging math classes available.  You will need it for most sciences.  Try to take as many challenging science classes as well.  When you get to college your first couple of years will be filled with taking the dreaded general education classes, pick carefully to meet the requirements.  Choose those that will help you developing your logic skills.  For example in the philosophy category pick logic if it is available.  Good luck we need more scientists.

  2. getting into college and majoring in science.  being a star trek fan helps too.

    picard > kirk

    imho

  3. First three steps..

    study

    study

    and study

  4. Take all the math you can ... and then some!

Physics and Chemistry are both key components of astronomy/astrophysics/space/time ...

Ah ... and any computer programming courses you can.

And writing ... being able to write exceptionally well is extremely important in most all fields.

  5. A high IQ and even higher curiosity.  And since most scientists and astronomers are not exactly highly paid, a certain disregard for wealth would help.  Also keep in mind that the American educational establishment graduates far more astronomers and physicists than it can actually use.  There are far more PhDs than jobs in these fields.  Be prepared to teach in Junior college or high school instead of doing science.  And that option usually requires that you take a bunch of hours in useless education courses.  Sad but true.

  6. get youself into college.

  7. A Mathematics PHD and a Physics PHD would be nice.

  8. u may change by the time ur in college, but college is that step

  9. Study math, physics, astrophysics, chemistry, and of course astronomy  books as well as getting a nice telescope and looking towards the sky.
