What is the first thing a baby knows?

a couple of years ago, I heard a radio station DJ ask what is the first thing a baby knows? and asked people to call in with their answers. some people were calling in and guessing things like that they are cold, their mother, that they are hungry, etc. unfortunately, I had to leave whatever area I was listening to the radio in so I never heard the answer at the end of the show.

does anyone know this?

eating is the first thing the baby knows when he is in your belly he is constantly eating a lil at a time so when he comes out he is ready to eat and he knows it. also when my son was born he cryed till i held him and talked to so i think in the womb the first thing he knows is your voice out side its eating!!!!!!!!!
