What is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing this statement "Form of humility as placement."

The first thing that comes to my mind is people judge other people by what they are doing.

I have a job working at a grocery store.  Some people think of me as 'lower' than what I can actually accomplish.  They may place in their mind that I'm too dumb to do other things. (I hope not- nobody's said anything)

Anyway, This can be applied to other aspects in life.

But it really means: Through humility, you have no ego.  Therefore, you do not have a set plan.  You do what comes, or God's will.  To me, this is similar to fate.
