MERA BHAARAT MAHAAN.  India is country of diverse cultures, traditions, religions but stillit is united. greatness of India is unity in diversity. it is the largest democracy. i am proud of its history and heritage. India is known for the patriotism of the citizens who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle to free their country from the clutches of foreign rule which was responsible for the impoverishment of masses in India and down fall of weavers and farmers with their policies. from such a terrible poverty India gained self reliance, green revolution and improved the condition of the backward classes. Beth is talking about pre independent india. but today India is not like that.

Edit:  Someone mentioned above their respect for the elders in India.  This is a wonderful trait and they also mentioned helping others and this also is to be admired.  I'm American with many nationalities in me, but we see all cultures in America.  An Indian couple lives in our neighborhood and one thing I know for sure is that they are a very grateful couple.  They love being Americans and they take pride in their property.  It is good to have them in our neighborhood.

to "Beth" No offence but,what U said is old story, much more older. U have no idea of present india,which is way better then America. we dont need to depend on Medical insurance for our accidence, we got mediclaim facilited without paying anything, second about putting widows in fire is old pre-independent india story, Third now infant marriages are almost no, where as i know lots of american girls get pregnant at early age as 14, with rate of divorce highest in the world.

I am not againts American, but cant stand your statement which are not fact.due to lack of knowledge.And I am not regreting me born in India, not even in my dreams.
