What is the fomula to find the area of a shaded sector within a circle?

AOB(O being the center of the cicle) is 150 degrees. From B to O and from A to O is 3, wich it is also the radius.

    that's 150 degrees.

    wouldn't it be the area of the circle x 150/360.


  2. Try this formula:  A = (150*3.1416*3^2)/360

    That was derived using ratio and proportion. It is the area of the whole circle multiplied by the included angle (150) divided by 360 degrees which is equivalent to one complete revolution. May this help!

  3. I haven't done any geometry in like 8 years (oh dear.  exactly 8 years... that went by quickly), but as the sum of angles in a circle is 360, I would presume...

    (150/360) (3.14*3^2) = 11.78
