What is the force that couses pyroclastic volcanoes to explode?

  1. The force besides the pressure built up under the mountain is the high viscosity, gas, and water content in the lava.  This makes the lava very explosive.


  2. Heat and pressure build deep under the the mountain. Cracks called fissures let the pressure out until it reaches ice or water. The differences in heat cause an explosion.
