  1. Freezing and melting point are the same thing. If you're going hot to cold, you're freezing. If your going cold to hot you're melting. But its the same temperature.

    Example: Pure water: If you're getting colder liquid water will freeze at 0 C. If you're getting warmer, solid water will melt at 0 C.

    But generally, 35 ppt water freezes (and melts) at -2 Celsius.
