  1. The Front Row.  It consists of two props (a Tight Head Prop and a Loose Head Prop) either side of a Hooker.

    The Props hold the scrum in position and the Hooker "hooks" the ball back with his foot (right foot usually used by beginers, left foot for more experienced players) when it is placed in the scrum.
