  1. 24:1

    use only TCW-3 certified oil

    OMC didn't make a 50:1 motor before 1960

  2. If memory serves me correctly the fuel mixture for the 1957 Johnson and Evinrude motors was 40-to one. Had one once upon a time, in a world far, far away!

  3. Believe it or not the first two answers are both correct.   That's because improvements in the oil allowed older motors to run on  a 50:1 oil mix.  However, your talking about a 50+ year old engine.   I'd check with some a collectors about any special requirements that would insure that you can run the motor safely.   For instance the water pump impeller is rubber, and as it ages, it gets brittle and will fail.  So how long ago was it last replaced......If over a couple years, I wouldn't risk it!

  4. 50:1
