  1. It turns off the gasoline leading to the carburator so that gasoline does not leak.  (You sure can mess up you knee trying to start one of the older models if you have forgotten to open that valve, lol)


  2. MC Manufacturers put that valve in there just in case you want your carburettors flooded with gas. If you want to flood your carbd, leave it on when you park it.

    It sometimes also has the added benefit of getting gas into your crankcase and damaging the oil in there.

  3. Valve: an on/off device used to regulate gas or liquid flow.

    Fuel: combustible liquid usually found as the primary propellant in internal combustion engines.

    Now put those together, and you have something that controls the flow of fuel into the engine, don't you?
