  1. The heart has got nothing to do with `Love`  - it is merely the most vital body pump - to circulate our blood.

Love (like religion) should always be questioned too! It is an aesthetic thing.

This remark will disturb the believers amongst you, but it is true.

  2. its just a phrase

  3. the greeks thought the heart controlled everything --just like we now know it is the brain....they believed that the heart was the center of the soul.....so the myth continues that the soul is in the heart....if you are hurt, we say you have a broken heart.....it is  a symbol for love and concern and the soul itself but it is not the soul.....

blood is necessary for life....to die for someone else is the greatest sacrifice--proving our devotion and loyalty

  4. It's just a saying. Love is an emotional bond, and emotions come from your brain.

I think perhaps people used to think it came from the heart because sometimes you get that feeling in your chest when you meet your lover and your heart beats faster... Or when you lose someone and your heart literally feels heavy... We now know this is to do with hormones and other chemicals, the production of which stems from the brain's responses.

  5. The heart is the center of your soul and is where all intelligence and emotion reside.  When you are sad, your heart breaks.  When you are happy to see some one your heart leaps. When you are scared your heart beats rapidly in your chest. When you are depressed then your heart feels heavy.

That is what the Egyptians use to believe anyways.  That is why they preserved the heart and merely diced and removed the brain to be throw away.
