  1. Some people like to express their opinions, and other people like to read those opinions. The Letters to the Editor section satisfies both.

    Anyway. Letters to the editors can mean that there was an article or column that was thought-provoking enough to engage the reader in writing the paper to express their views.In other words, they might've pissed someone off. But I never look at it that way. I see it as someone who wants to engage in a conversation, or just make a comment (much like this even).

    For readers, it shows that a fellow reader had the guts to say their piece about something they read. To put it roughly anyway. But you get the picture.

  3. Its a way of expressing your own views on a certain subject of your choice. If its well written and interesting the editor will publish it.
