here's a bit of trivia for you... the SHORTEST distance anyone walked on the Moon was by Buzz Aldrin, who was allowed during Apollo XI to walk roughly the distance from homeplate to first base. AND BACK!

That would be the Apollo 13 astronauts. They went further than the other Apollo astronauts because they looped around the moon at a higher speed, since they didn't go into orbit. About 245,000 miles.
