  1. the furtest  point  would be Barrow, Alaska.

  2. Northernmost point: Point Barrow, Alaska 71°23' N 156°29' W distance in miles 2,507

Easternmost point: West Quoddy Head, Maine 44°49' N 66°57' W distance in miles 1,788

Southernmost point: Ka Lae (South Cape), Hawaii 18°55' N 155°41' W distance in miles 3,463

Westernmost point: Cape Wrangell, Alaska (Attu Island) 52°55' N 172°27' E distance in miles 3,625

    1. From geographic center of United States (incl. Alaska and Hawaii), west of Castle Rock, S.D., 44°58' lat., 103°46' W long.

***If measured from the prime meridian in Greenwich, England, Cape Wrangell, Attu Island, Alaska, would be the easternmost point.

  3. Since I live in south eastern Australia, the north west corner of the USA would be furthest away. Apart from Hawaii, the closest patch would be the bit south of Los Angeles.  The closest bit of US territory is about 4 kilometres away, it's the US embassy.

  4. Part of school is knowing where or how to find this information.  Having someone else find it for you is most certainly not what your teacher has in mind.

The Internet is a glorious thing.  Try looking for this stuff yourself.  You might learn other cool stuff.

  5. Farthest from where?

Hawaii is the farthest from Maine

Miami  is the farthest place from the west end of Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

Farther (further is the wrong word) is a relative concept and has to be related to at least three places.

Where you are and two or more other places.

Farther asks which ones are more distant from you.

  6. Furthest from where?

  7. That would be Barrow, Alaska. It's the furthest point of North America.
