  1. the furthest known star would naturally be found in the furthest known galaxy, a title for which the galaxy Abell 1835 IR1916 is a candidate.  But really, all such stars are essentially equidistant from earth, so there's no 'furthest star'

    Abel 1835 is over 13.5 billion light years away...
