AML as a career is beginning to gain grounds. It is getting recognition because of its importance. Is there not a possibility of it fading away with future foreign policies?

  1. Assuming you're talking about anti-money laundering...  Compliance in general, and AML in specific, is a great area to get into.  Financial services firms, as well as smaller institutions like hedge funds, are definitely hiring for this skill set.

However, you are far more likely to be successful in the field of compliance in the long run if you have a law degree.  So be forewarned.

Personally, I think that it's unlikely that AML as a function will go away.  However, there is much more to compliance than AML, so you should be able to comcentrate on compliance as a field, and then look to move from AML into product or central compliance if you are looking to diversify your knowledge base.

    Good luck!
