i think until 2010 because it is still selling alot so that is the main reason

Are they still retailing the PS2?  I wasn't aware they were.  In any case, the PS2 will be around for a bit in homes.  The PS3, in my opinion, isn't worth the inflated price to replace it just yet.  As the price of the PS3 drops, I would expect to see more and more PS2s at yard sales or tucked away in a closet.

WHAT IS THE MAIN REASON THAT PS2 IS STILL AROUND? As of 2008 the PS2 has sold 140 million units ! It's been a cash cow for sony ! To date, it's the best selling console of all time !
