  1. Eire

    Banba Or

  2. The name Éire is the name format in modern Irish of the goddess called Ériu in Ancient Gaelic. She helped the Gaels conquer ireland.

  3. Eire. there is an accent on the first E.

Eireann is used in the possessive case of the noun, i.e. People of Ireland would be "muintear Eireann".

Or Repulbic of Ireland would be "Poblact na hEireann" again with an accent on the first E.

  4. Eire.

    Ireland Rocks!

  5. And don't forget Ireland is now a part of An tAontas Eorpach.  :)

  6. Éire. with a fada over the é! The name for the Irish language is just "Irish". Irish in Irish is called gaeilge! lol! Slán anois

  7. Eire = Ireland

    In Eirinn = In Ireland

Muintir na hEireann = The people of Ireland

In all cases would normally have an acute accent on the initial E, which we call a fada, but the fada is normally omitted for initial capital vowels when writing Irish, or Gaeilge, which is the true Irish name for our language, rather than Gaelic.

  8. So many answers, and they are all wrong.

The name is Éire with a fada on the e, "eire" means "burden".

It seems to be very hard to remember, even Post Éireann got it wrong at least once.

  9. Eire. I have it tattooed on my back.

  10. Eire

  11. Eireann

  12. Éire

  13. Eire.

  14. EIRE = BETTER THAN BRITAIN

  15. Eire but it depends on the sentence-it can be changed in to Eireann or Eirean as well...I can never remember when though lol :D
