What is the gas mileage on my car?

I have a 1997 V4 Chevy Cavalier z24, I was wondering what the gas mileage is

Depending on whether it is automatic or manual. And you have an Inline 4 cylinder not a V4 (just for future reference).

Figure about 22-25 mpg city and probably 30+ mpg highway.

Best way to figure it out is when you fill up next reset your trip odometer (push the stick type thing that is sticking out of your gauge cluster). Then the next time you fill up note how many miles you drove, and how many gallons of gas you put in. Take the miles and divide it by the number of gallons. That will give you an average.

under the old system the manual trans variant was rated 33 mpg or 30 mpg under the new system.

the automatic was 1 mpg lower.

20 city/ 30 highway if it's a 5 speed

It's an inline 4, not a V4

33 miles to the gallon on the highway

So you should be getting atleast 27 Miles to the gallon combined.
