What is the gas/oil ratio?

for my Mercury Force 40hp / 2 stroke outboard engine. Not sure of the age.

hmm could be anywhere from 50/50 down......... does it not say anywhere on the engine?

I would start at 40 to 1, run it for 10 minutes, check the plug , if its black I would go with a 50 to 1 mixture. The plug should be dk brown if correct mixture is being used light brown to white if to lean and black(oily) if to fat, good luck

A Merc Force should be 50:1.
