  1. You said truck so im assuming you mean big truck like an 18 wheeler. I drive on so ill be close. Right now at the cost of fuel an independent will be 1.50 to 2.00 dollars a mile. If its an oversized load it will be more. If it needs an escort it will be even more.

It really depends on many factors.  Sometimes truck brokers will quote on the penny-weight or some times a flat rate per trip.  Long hauls charge different than local shipments.  You will need to find a reputable truck broker and get a rate then search the internet and phone books for truck companys in the area you want to load or unload at.  If you call a company and they are ot interested, call some more and ask them if they know of anybody who may be interested in your cargo.  good luck!
