I am at a crossroads and am considering a change in life. I have a relative whom is in the navy, suggested for me to join the airforce. I am highly interested but altogether apprehensive. To be honest I am a complete whimp and cant handle extreme stress. Is there anyone similar to me that has joined the airforce and if so, how is it working out for you?

  1. If you do not like stress,

Then do not join the military.

  2. My husband was going to be in the Marines, his father was in the navy.  Being on ship for a long time is torture and has very small chambers.  The Air force is called the posh place for 5 star service men.  My husband had to visit all of the different services and by far the Air force was the nicest, cleanest, best food and most comfortable rooms the service has to offer.  If you like that, you'll love the Air force.  He did, at least until he figured out what he really wanted to do in life.  I'd choose Air force.

  3. dont join, theres no room for self proclaimed sissys in the military

  4. I am in the air force. The first year is rough going to basic and tech school, but once you get to your job it is all better.  I am married so I go to work mon-fri 7-4 and go home my apartment off base.  So it is like a normal job with 30 days leave, paid college, guaranteed pay check, holidays off.  It would be a good decision if you decided to join.  Basic training is the only place that you might have extreme stress, but im sure you could make it through.  If not they would discharge you anyways so you would be all good.

  5. The general's lifestyle in the air force is the same as that of newest recruit.  They sleep on cots and eat at the chow hall.

  6. air force is slow rank, that's what kept me from joining the air force.
