  1. 60 $ per week

    250 $ Monthly

  2. If you take martial arts classes at a junior college or community center you will usually pay under $100 a month, which is a bargain, but often the amount of hours of training you get and the quality of training you get is suspect, but not always. Any private school/studio/dojo will usually start at $100 a month and go up from there, but it rarely reaches above $300 a month (which is very expensive for martial arts). It is up to the student to decide whether the knowledge gained is worth the price being charged.

    Happy Training

  3. anywhere from a hundred or so dollars a month to several thousand paid upfront

the program my son is in cost us over five thousand

  4. It really depends on the school, but the one I'm at now is free. We just have to pay for the cost of our uniform, belt, sparring gear and things like that.

The one I used to go to was about $60 - $75 a month -- for one person and for one class a week.

  5. My class is 2&1/2 hours to 5 hours 3 days a week.  (Can attend as many classes as you like.)  $65 a month.

  6. Dont listen to him,its not $60 a week. It is NORMALY between 100 and 120$ a Month. Plus Dobok/Gi (Uniform) is like 40$ If there realy cool, theyll throw the uni in.

  7. My school charges $75/month.  There are discounts if you have more than one family member in the school so the most any family pays is $175/month.  We also offer a program through the city recreation department that is $44 for 10 weeks.

I know schools that charge up to $200/month per person with no discounts.

BTW, the instruction at my school is not reflective of the price.  My sensei is a contributing editor for Black Belt Magazine, does seminars internationally, and holds a 9th dan.  He also personally teaches about half of the classes at all levels.  Nor is it a McDojo, he promotes only about 4 black belts a year.

  8. It all depends on the area and the type of school.

In a big city, in the nicer business districts you can look to pay an initial enrollment fee, and around 90-100 bucks a month. In that same city you can look at other more rural areas with still an enrollment fee, and a monthly charge of anywhere from 40-75 bucks a month.

Its hard to tell if a school is genuine by the charge as some quality training can really cost upwards of a few thousand dollars for a weekend seminar. On the other side of that token really SHIITTY instruction can be set up as a fraud charging you the same money for c**p that will get you killed.

If you are curious about justifying the expenses, I would suggest taking a tour of all the local dojo/jang/ whatever and watching the advanced classes (ADVANCED). When you've sat in on two or three classes just watching you can see the differences in understanding and thinking as well as teaching. You will find out who the frauds are and also find a style you'd like to learn and school to learn from.

  9. For me, about $25 usd/month. I live in Nz.

  10. an arm and a leg.
