  1. My doctor said either Colace or Dulcolax.

  2. Colace or the generic verison of it. But before you try a stool softener you ought to try eating a big bowl of shredded wheat or rasian bran. Eating cereals such as those easied my constipation better than stool softeners.

  3. Just use Glycerin suppositories, it can be an unpleasant thought inserting them, but they work like magic you only have to have them in for 5 seconds.

  4. Colace or SoFlax or Ducolax they all work really well and gently...as far as stool softeners go. You should always try to increase your fiber intake first though because if you start taking stool softeners on a regular basis your bowel can become lazy and start to need the softeners to help things pass through nicely. I take Benefibre everyday...I mix it in a glass on water and drink it. It has absolutley no taste. I also will put it in my smoothies for breakfast. It has really helped me. also try eating all whole grains...whole wheat bread, pasta, and rice. that will also help. Good luck!

  5. If you have constipation, you could try eating a bowl of bran flakes every morning; bran flakes have been my saviour throughout this pregnancy!

  6. DO NOT TAKE ANY LAXATIVES OR STOOL SOFTENERS WITHOUT CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!

Most Dr.'s do not want you taking stool softeners or laxatives during pregnancy.  Instead, try some raisins, prunes, bran, or broccoli, and drink LOTS of water!

  7. I think you can only use an e***a, I don't believe there is a pill you can take, but I could be wrong.  I was given Colace in the hospital after the birth while I was breastfeeding, but I wouldn't use that unless the doctor tells you to.  For some people laxatives and stool softeners can cause early labor.

I would call and ask your doctor or a pharmacist, they will be able to tell you.  If you don't want to call then just eat fiber (raw fruit and veggies, raisin bran or prunes)

  8. fleet e***a.. they use it in the hospital on me before delivery

  9. My doctor recommended Colace.  At one time it was prescription only, but it is now sold over the counter.

  10. I was given Lactulose   by my GP when i was having my twins but always ask his advice about this

  11. apple  or prune juice

  12. well I know for a fact that my doctor told me that i can take colace as a stool softner while I am pregnant. So I will say colace which is docusate sodium. A stool softner is not a laxative, my md said laxatives are not recommended.
