anyway, yes, going green is about reducing your impact on the environment, meat is rarely brought into the argument, but beef is a tremendous waste of resources

I don't know why it's called going green. I try to live a sustainable life, that means what I do today can continue to be done for generations without damaging the earth. I don't focus on Global Warming I try to reduce my pollution, waste, and exposure to chemicals. I also focus on conserving resources that means cutting down on the gas and electricity I use, the amount of packaging, the distance my food travels etc.

I don't live like a Hippy from the 60's, I'm in an average home that looks just like everyone else. I buy most of my food from a local organic farmers market, I cook most of my food from scratch, but I don't do things like grind my own wheat. I still occasionally go to McDonalds. I do try to buy organic cotton, bamboo or other clothes that didn't need a lot of pesticides to grow. I use natural cleaning products like baking soda and vinegar. I buy less, so when I do need to buy an appliance or furniture, I try to make sure it will meet my needs now and for a long time in the future.

Most of my changes have saved me money. I have made a couple large investments, I have driven a Prius for 6 years and our second car is now a hybrid, I've also recently installed a solar electric system. These both cost money up front, but I'll be saving money in the long run.
