What is the going rate for a babysitter in michigan?

For the rest of the summer i am going to be watching two kids at the ages of 9 and 7. I have known both these children since they were born. My mother owns a daycare and watched these kids until they were off to school. now it's summer and my mom isn't lisenced to have anymore kids, so the job was passed on to me. I will be driving to their house mon-fri from 8 o'clock am to around 5 o'clock pm. The family will provide breakfast and lunch. I am wondering what i should charge. I've babysat these two kids before and i can't seem to remember what i charged and i just wanted to get an even weekly rate.

It really depends upon where in Michigan that you are babysitting. If you are talking the southeast suburb area I would say for two kids it would be more expensive...like $9-$10/hr.

About a $100-150 wk because they are older and just need to make sure they are safe. I would ask your mom since she is a daycare provider though!

ask for $8 an hour.. so thats $360 a week
