    Prices are quotes in $US / troy ounce.  A troy ounce weights 31.1 grams.

    If you sell it to a pawn shop, or a scrap gold dealer, they will pay you for the weight of the gold content.  Jewelry is not a lump of gold, you paid extra for the artwork, but you may not recoup the artwork charge.  You could try selling the jewelry as is on E-bay.
